This blog was created with the intent of keeping you in touch with our family. I am a secondary school teacher and an adjunct history instructor. The last 25 plus years of my life have been shared with my husband Randal. He works for an Electric Coop. We have one daughter, who graduated from Tech this year. We are amazed daily at how God works in our lives.

Secret Things

Sorry for the delay in updating my Blog. But things have been crazy and too much has been going on these last few weeks. This is TAKS week and you can imagine how crazy CHS is at the moment. We have had several sick, which puts us in a panic. Panic of kids missing and being declared failed. And of course, we are not only concerned with TAKS, but we don’t like them to be sick. Adding to all of this…my cell phone (my connection to God’s plans for my new life) fell in the toilet today! Yes, I know that sounds yuk, but it really happened! And the answer to the question you probably want to know is…NO! NO! There was nothing in the toilet except water. Still gross, but could have been worse.

Speaking of the cell phone. After people read my last blog entry, I have had many ask me if God has called yet to give us a message about the house selling or me a new job and etc. He has been calling, but nothing absolute yet. I have done more interviews and filled out more applications. The house is showing and waiting for the perfect owners who love it as much as we do. God is working on all of it, and I am anxiously waiting for the news. I keep clinging to this verse from Deuteronomy 29:29. It talks about the things our God works on behind the scenes of life, so that His plans can come into place for our lives. The verse is:

The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever…

I have also found that God talks through e-mails and others forms of technology too. This hasn't been a good week. I accidently dropped a deposit of a large sum of cash, which was intended for the bank in an outgoing mail box. Talk about a panic! Thank goodness we have some really honest postmen. I got it all back. Thanks guys for tracking down the money.

Stay safe and avoid the Swine flu. This is a really cute little story titled “Shirley
& Marcy”:

Shirley & Marcy
A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.

So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.

She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.

The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew. She did this for the whole week.

As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week?

Do you know her?'
Timmy nonchalantly replied, 'Yeah, I know who she is.'
The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?'
'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.'

'Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us?
'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much.
And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow
me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you today and always.

Pass it on and brighten someone's day!
